While many people associate ceramics with the wheel, handbuilding is the oldest form of creating pottery, dating as far back as 28,000 BCE. It is a technique that requires little; just some clay, your hands, and some simple tools.
At Artitude, we practice the art of handbuilding clay. From pinch pots to coils to slabs, you will have the opportunity to learn the vocabulary and skills needed to be an excellent handbuilt ceramicist! Artitude provides a space where all of the tools and techniques needed to create beautiful handbuilt ceramic art are at your fingertips. Come get your hands dirty with us! |

YOUR INSTRUCTOR
SHAWN CLIFTONShawn has been an artist his entire life and has been doing ceramics since childhood. He started Artitude in 2019 after teaching ceramics and art in the Spring Branch area for 12 years. With a degree in Interior Design, Shawn has a wealth of experience in making eye-catching creations both in clay and in homes.
His expertise will guide you through many projects at Artitude. Whatever you want to make, he is there to help you ideate, create, and enjoy! |
